The place
What it islike
The reach is a mile of shallow water that becomes a mile of mud and eelgrass every low tide, which is why nobody built a marina here and why the birds stayed. Twelve houses along the north shore, all of them set back behind the flood line.
Residents talk about the tide the way other places talk about the weather. The view changes completely twice a day and the houses are drawn to make something of both states.
