The Long Barn
A hundred metres of agricultural frame, made habitable.
The house
Amagi kept the barn as one volume and inserted the accommodation as four freestanding timber boxes, none of which touch the original trusses. You read the whole hundred metres from either end.
The insertions are demountable. In principle the barn could be returned to a barn in a month, and the planning consent was granted on that basis.
